The crowd reaction tonight was massive. It showed that exciting fights always bring the money no matter what.

Looking at the UFC rankings there are about 15 women over the 4 divisions who I deem to be UFC calibre. The rest is complete garbage and should be on Fight Night prelims.

Usually Sherdog has lots of varied opinions with fans and haters of numerous fighters going to battle every day on these boards.

But all the threads this week seem to have 99% of posters on the same page.

Prompted by @FrankieNYC, I'm wondering whether the Jon Jones/UFC 232 debacle is conceivably the biggest clusterfuck in MMA history.

Of course, we need some distance from events - but it has to be in the conversation.

The credibility of the UFC, Dana White, Jeff Novitsky, WME, USADA, the CSAC, and Andy Foster has been shredded. The legacy and accomplishments of Jon Jones have been shredded.

We have seen the UFC suddenly pack up the carnival tent and run to another state...

If Gus wins he is the GOAT savior of MMA and the UFC.
No question Jones is a scumbag on so many levels. Yet he is truly a marvel of a fighter. If Gus can duplicate his last performance and send Jon to the hospital a bit earlier I will loose it. I rarely even yell at my screen but if Gus can pull this off I will be dancing in the street!

First thing that pops into my head is a fighter that's ranked highly in the main stadiums like Lumpinee and Rajadamnern but now days isn't it a little more complicated?

You have fighters who do well in the stadiums but not so much internationally based off a number of things. Over the years the stadiums have been influenced by the gamblers and even guys like Samart have come out and said its different to how it was in the golden era. International muaythai promotions CAN be judged...

What does it take to be considered one of the best MuayThai fighters?

going from one of the least taxed states to one of the highest. fighters losing a shitload of their purse so Jones can stay on the card lmao

then again, she should be happy jones/gus are still on it since ppv points. but the rest of the guys are just losing money straight up lol

same with other sports. i find it hard to believe with the benefits of being on dope and the peer pressure that your contemporaries arent clean youre gonna be dirty are you not?

i mean the money is huge and you dont really lose it. i look at local dealers in my town growing up, a few of them did long stretches in jail but came out still rich with properties, businesses that are now legit etc.

crime pays does it not?

MMA media needs to do som investigating journalism on this USADA matter
I really hope the different mma media out lets can step up their game and start to do some real work and get some real answers to what just happened in the USADA/JJ matter. The questions being asked at the Jeff and Dana presser was so god awful bad, and non of the media members seems to have any clue about doping what so ever.

- Jones got caught having single AND double digits of picograms worth of A metabolite...... what?
- USADA calling around the world talking to nameless «world...
